Jesus came ‘so that we may have life in abundance’ (John 10:10). After His death and resurrection, He charged us with a vitally important task – spread the good news of His sacrifice, so that everyone can know the love and mercy of God.
Even today, Christians everywhere continue to work to bring about God’s vision for mankind, by spreading His Word, by loving our neighbours and by serving those around us. At St Kat’s, we have a particular focus in bringing about meaningful change in our local area, through outreach, charity work and prayer.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
- John 3:16
We believe that prayer is a vital part of seeing our area change and we regularly meet with a number of churches and Christian groups in our locality to pray for East Acton together.
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
- 1 John 5:14
Our Values
In His day, Jesus Christ was considered a radical – He preached loving one’s enemies, forgiveness, and that those deemed outcasts by society were blessed in God’s eyes.
At St Kat’s, we aspire to continue this movement of radical love; our slogan, ‘Loving God, loving one another, loving our community’, speaks to our resolution to strive for God’s Kingdom on earth, both in West London and around the world.
East Acton has always been close to our hearts and most of our congregation live locallly. We seek to support the whole community through our status as a Healthy Healing Hub (see below). We host a variety of community support, and social events, including: Food Bank (see below), `Chill and Chat’ drop-in cafe, Connect Groups, Kids Matter Parenting Programme (see below), and Messy Church. We have run regular kids events in half term for Primary School aged children, and there are plans to launch a table tennis club for people of all ages.
